Art with Ken

A huge THANK YOU  Ken for a great session.  You could tell by the conversation and participation that we all enjoyed the activities you had organised and the hands-on approach.
The variety of eerie artwork created was inspiring and scary.
It was great to have a member of the group share just a couple of his talents with the rest of us.
Much appreciated.

All Kinds of Minds - 27th September

Thanks to everyone who gave up some holiday time to take part in this session.
We took part in a number of practical hands-on activities to gain an understanding of  the neural constructs involved in learning.
The challenge is probably to see how we can use this information as CRTs.
It's great to be part of the global All Kinds of Minds - community.

Writing Selection Criteria - August 3rd

We learned a great deal of really useful and practical information form Michael Victory last Tuesday. Michael works for the Teacher's Learning Network which is based in Melbourne and connected to the AEU and the VIEU.  He provided a wealth of information for anyone looking for more permanent employment and in a lighthearted manner.
Some of the  members even suggested we revisit this topic again next year.

Level 2 First Aid

Wow - There's a lot of ways we can hurt ourselves!! The world is a dangerous place - that's for sure.
Thanks to Lynn Defoe from National First Aid, we, 16 brave and adventurous first aiders, learned how to give rescue breaths, count to 30 while giving CPR and create fancy hairdoos, whilst bandaging bleeding heads.
We shared stories of cheeky children, experimenting with superglue, burning butts, doing tricks from couches and getting into all sorts of trouble.
We laughed and learned and will 'be prepared' with our heavy handbags and weighed down key rings, should some unlucky person dare to look pale and clammy or complain of pain!!
Unfortunately we were given homework to complete - on the holidays!! Good luck with those answers.

Photostory Workshop

On Tuesday 4th May an enthusiastic bunch of CRTs sat in the lab at Lumen Christi to be enlightened, not only on how to use the software program Photostory, but also to have a quick peek at some highly recommended websites, for those of us who enjoy using computers and also for those who want to learn more.
Thanks to Danielle Peters for her obvious passion in this Area and for her professional and helpful approach with the hands-on style workshop.
Photostory is very user friendly, takes little time and the finished product can be enjoyed and appreciated by all age groups.  My 3 children loved seeing themselves on screen, appearing, zooming in and out and all to the lovely tune of "From Little Things Big Things Grow".
I do have some extra copies of the Step-by-step instructions Danielle prepared for us, for anyone attending a future session.
